Under cab is an altervative for integrated (coach built) vans. It permits an entirely new look in fitting out these vehicles.

On the left we can see the cab under motorhome.  Stairs lead up to the driving position where there are four seats and the movable stairs link the driving position to the living quarters.  Under the stairs there is a bed.

On the right we can see a classical integrated vehicle.  The driver’s seat is behind the engine.  Above the roof is the bed.

Project ideas: Under cab on a Fiat Ducato chassis.

Two campers based on the Ducato.

On the left "2B"  (double floor elev.) The driver sits low in the passenger car or van.

Right: Integra with high driver's seat.

Do motorhome purchasers want to drive it as though it were a lorry?  If not, then why not use our suggestion which links the idea of driving a convertible limousine with that of sailing a yacht!

In the upper right-hand corner there are details on these proposed motorhomes.

RV categorys:

  • Class B (Class B Motorhomes look very much like a van. In fact they can be called van conversions or camper vans).

  • Class C (Class A Motorhomes are built on heavy duty frames. The frames are constructed on either a commercial truck chassis, a specially designed motor vehicle chassis or a commercial bus chassis).

  • Class A (Class A Motorhomes are built on heavy duty frames. The frames are constructed on either a commercial truck chassis, a specially designed motor vehicle chassis or a commercial bus chassis).

AR Concept is like class A, but different because of high elevated driving cabin and two levels inside (driving compartment/ living compartment). Its not really belong to anyone of typical RV classes.

EN OVER: Exemplary embodiment:

It is planned that the alcove reverse concept will mainly (up to 90%) be used in vehicles with a self-supporting chassis from the Fiat Ducato ®. You can read more about this on the bottom "Skydancer 3.5 - chassis Fiat Ducato".

Furthermore
however, the concept could e.g. be used on a base vehicle with a classic lead frame. Different models of IVECO ® or "mini" trucks like the Nissan Cabstar ® come into consideration.

Three approaches are conceivable for vehicles with a lead frame:

a) The double cabin could be used as a base - in this case it is placed higher, the floor of the cabin is cut away (because it is usually very uneven) and replaced by a flat floor.

b) Alternatively, only the bulkhead wall of the original driver's cab (possibly also with front sash with A pillars - ie "the foremost 30-40cm of the cabin) can be cut off (as with our Skydancer 7.5 Atego) and a completely new passenger frame can be attached to it.

c) Third option remains our secret.
